Skeleton Coast SOUTH
Add to the “Coastal Impression” a fantastic aerial view over the dry Kuiseb Riverbed, a very contrast border between the sand sea and the yellow gravel plains. From Gobabeb, the desert research station we fly into the sand sea with many different colors starting from reddish, orange, yellow, mustard, ochre …and an ever changing forms and texture. Reaching the “Southern Skeleton Coast” catch a glance of the “Eduard Bohlen” and “Shaunee”, it’s the closest most people ever get to see these famous shipwrecks. We leave Swakopmund behind the dune belt heading south over gravel plains to the Kuiseb River dry bed, a very contrast order between the sand sea and the yellow Gravel plains.

Northbound along the scenic coastline past “Lange Wand”, another shipwreck “Shaunee”, some seal colonies, jackals etc., Sandwich Bay Lagoon, Nature Conversation area and breeding ground for flamingos, pelicans etc., a very pictures bay with its sandbars and shallow waters, then Walvis Bay Saltpans, Walvis Bay Lagoon and harbor area, Bird Island, guano platform back to Swakopmund.
